Added to a shipment from White2Tea, this sample of their 2007 Repave aged raw puerh shows how robust puerh can be!
I really do enjoy notes and great customer service. The owner, presumably Paul, is also really active in the r/Tea and r/Puerh Reddit forums. I really enjoy their handpicked selection at White2Tea and was eager to try the free sample that came with my bricks of their 2002 White Whale.
I forgot to take a picture of the dry leaves. They were quite small, standard in color, and lightly fragrant.
According to White2Tea, they sourced 2007 loose puerh from Hekai, which they packed up into bings in 2014. Hekai is one of the 26 famous mountains of Yunnan, birthplace of Puerh tea.
The tea itself brewed quite thick, with light passing through it revealing cloudy liquid. After tasting, this proved that the tea was very full-bodied, complex, brisk, and strong.
This tea's smell was lightly smokey, like roasted almonds. The taste was very strong with hints of pebbles and extremely brisk. These leaves will hold up for many, many infusions.
